We have created two super-fun camps for ages 8 and up. We recommend some sewing knowledge, but beginners are always welcome!

Young Designer's Sewing Camp 2007

Session 1: June 18 - June 22, 9:00 am to 1:00 pm

Session 2: July 23 - July 27, 9:00 am - 1:00 pm

Ages 8 and up, $120/session

Some sewing knowledge or Sewing Basics I recommended prior to camp, but not required.

Campers will choose from a variety of "GreenDot tested & approved" patterns for their project for the week. (Pattern needs to be selected at least a week prior to the first day of camp.) We'll take a field trip to the fabric store to select the fabric for the chosen pattern. During our time we'll learn to read the pattern layout and understand the construction steps. Campers will gain confidence in their skills and abilities and may even develop a love of sewing that could last a lifetime! Please download and complete Emergency/Release Form.

Registration

• Registration can be done by phone (530) 345-1664, or in person at GreenDot, 530 Broadway, Chico.
• Camp must be paid for in full when registering.
• Completed Emergency/Release Form must be turned in on or before the first day of camp.
• Project pattern needs to be selected at least a week prior to the first day of camp.

What to bring

• Students should bring $30 on the first day for fabric & notions during our trip to the fabric store. (Pattern is included in camp fee.)
• A water bottle and an easy to eat snack (GreenDot Gals suggest non-messy fruit, fruit snacks, crackers, granola bars, etc)

Sign In/Out

• All children must be signed in and out each day. Children will only be released to those listed on the Emergency/Release Form.
• Children must be picked up promptly at 1:00 pm to avoid incurring additional charges.

Cancellation Policy

For session 1:

• If cancelled before June 11: full refund minus a $20 processing fee.
• If cancelled between June 11 and June 15: 50% refund of fees.
• If cancelled after June 15, no fees will be refunded.

For session 2:

• If cancelled before July 16: full refund minus a $20 processing fee.
• If cancelled between July 16 and July 20: 50% refund of fees.
• If cancelled after July 20, no fees will be refunded.

Re-Fashion Mini-Camp

August 8, 9 & 10, 12:00 am to 3:00 pm

Ages 8 and up, $60/session

Some sewing knowledge or Sewing Basics I recommended prior to camp, but not required.

We will begin the session by taking a field trip to a local thrift store to find second-hand items that can be creatively "re-fashioned." We will focus on clothing quality and the "recycleability" of items we find, as well as some principals of design and color. We'll then take our finds back to the GreenDot studio and cut, sew and trim to our heart's content. Campers will learn about recycling clothing while honing their clothing construction and design skills. Please download and complete Emergency/Release Form.
